I am curious if any one here uses an aftermarket tunnel brace. Namely the tubular one from BMR. Did you notice any difference?

Its the brace that goes under the exhaust. If you have seen the Kenny Brown SFCs it is the brace that they tie to in the middle. You can see a pic here:
I have my KB SFCs installed now and while they help, I still have some cowl shake, so I am looking for ways to stiffen things up. I think it would look pretty cool in silver too

I assume you have a M6, the A4 convertible does not have that piece. For some reason we have a big POS "X" brace in the way of everything.

The M6 has the X-brace as well. The single bar shown above will work for any convertible (bolts to the same place the 2 farthest back points on your X does), but is a direct replacement for the Coupe/T-top 4th gen which just uses the single bar shown in the pics.
Havn't seen the underside of a A4 vert yet, so I don't know if the X braces are differnet.
A tubular steel X-brace, with a straight bar as above, connecting the lower points of the X, and a bolt-in DS loop would be nice, but probably overkill ($$$ wise).
Anyone know if the A4 X-brace is the same dimentions as the M6 X-brace?

I don't think it is the same, since the X -brace on the A4 prevents the installation of LT headers and/or Y-Pipe. SLP has developed a new brace for the A4 convertibles (replaces the X) so that one can install LT's and a Y-pipe.

Check out the pic. The tunnel brace I had made at a weld shop for $60. Pretty simple, I took a picture of one on-line and my guy replicated it. Can't remember which of the vendors. Cut the bar out of 1/4" plate and bent the DS loop to fit the cavity and cross piece to miss the exhaust. Then welded in place. He did have to remove the DS to gain access when forming the strap. It is very sturdy and seems to work well. Later, Randy H.[*]
