Just wonderd what everyone has done about adding bass to their convertibles. Whatever you've done, any ideas are welcome. Especially if you have plans or pictures of any kind.

I built a custom box that fits between the trunk and top well (in that little slot of space) and doesn't hog the space in the trunk. There are pics on my homepage (link above) or you can email me for details / info. The box can be built for 2 or 4 8" subs.

There is a company named Audio Enhancers that makes one that fits the late model Fbodies w/two 12" speakers w/Low air volume spaces.
It fits so well that if U have the optional CD changer, it fits still on the left side and there is enough room under the box that I have 2 amps in the bottom of the well with plenty of breathing room. There is a enough space on both sides of the box that air can travel by too. My only complaint is when the top is down, its almost impossible to hear the Subs and my sub amp tends to overheat and turn off, but thats only when my top is down.
Forgot exactly how much I paid for it, I think $200.
If you have any quetions, please drop me an email, I would be glad to help.

I added a sub box with 2 10" JL W0's. They are face downward and the box fit into the well. it required only finding a way to lift up the cd changer so i could get the magazine out. My amp is on top of the changer. I only have around 100 watts going to each sub with the stock stereo and it sounds great. I lose treble when the stereo is only turned up midway, but when cranked, it comes back very nicely and has some great punch for what i have. I will be installing dynamat this summer though. Any other questions?

I just finished installing a Johnny B's sub box and it sounds great. I used 2 cheap Pyramid 8" and it sound good with them, and I did not have to sacrifice alot of trunk space. Used stock head unit with with an Alpine 5 channel amp and 4 new Rockford speakers in stock location. Sounds 100 times better than the crappy Monsoon system.

I have had 4 or 5 different combo and sets of subs until I found one that worked for me. I built a small box that fit into my center well and about flush with the top of the well and put 2 Eclipse Alum 12s in it. And powered it with a 2000 watt Earthquake amp. It sounds like a lot (and with the top up it will rattle your teeth) but with the top down I have a fair amount of bass. Those subs take a lot of power to run but they are SQ subs so they sound good with any type of music and with the right power they will make any geto crusier out there (top only of course)jelous.
