the weather stip on my 98 conv on the trunk lid falls off i can put it back on but it fall right back off within opening the trunk a few times i wanted to know if anyone else had this prob

Mine does that in one corner. Time for weatherstripping adhesive (3M make excellent stuff). Just follow the instructions on the tube and it will never come loose again.

Thanks for the tip! Mine has been doing that for quite a while now and I didn't want to take it in to the dealer for it.

My '98 did the same thing when new. Except is was deformed from being pinched in the wrong position. I took it to the dealer and it was replaced under warranty. Funny thing (in a sad sort of way) was when I got the car back, the moron who installed the strip had it on the outer lip of the trunk so it was exposed on the outside (and looked rather "dorky"). Needless to say, I had them correct that right away. Gotta keep your eyes on any work a dealer does.

I've seen a few newer LS1 convertibles that don't even have the weatherstrip. You could proabably just remove it if you wanted (i.e. car shows or other "high-profile events" [Wink] )
