It's a quite day at the office so I thought I would share with you my currant state of affairs just to get some 'chatter' happening.

So the Ponti-wreck was put in the garage about a month ago. For reasons to long to explain, I decided to pull the motor for a refreash. I also had to install my Spohn torque arm as well as get a Racetronix dual intank pump as the newly installed Walbro 340M was STILL not enough pump for the motor.

I have also decided to go to a FAST computer to replace my miserable attempts at tuning with LT1 Edit.

With that on the go, with the car off the road for 6 months and an opportunity to get some powder coating done real cheap, I have also stripped out the entire front and rear suspension (well the rear had to be done for the fuel pump) and am getting a ton of things powdercoated.

Upper and lower A-arms, steering/brake knuckle, front and rear calipers, sway bars, some of the blower intercooler pipes, upper panhard bar and end link brackets etc etc.

I'm also getting the intake done and getting the y-pipe for the blower that comes up to the TB chromed. polishing anything aluminum and getting some other dress up items like aluminuim valave covers and MBA fuel covers.

Here is a link to a few pics of the current state of affairs.

This is the first time I have done anything CLOSE to this big. Taking it apart has not been TOO big a problem. Maybe 20 hours so far. Putting it together is going to be the tough, time consuming job.

Wish me luck [Smile]

WOW!! [Eek!]

Sounds like a big project, but fun too! Good luck on it!

I am in a big one myself right now..... Tearing parts out of both of my 68's to put into either the 69, or my convertible 68 (depending on the part), and also tearing apart the front/rear suspension/brakes/engine/trans from the 69 to put in my 68 coupe. Basically a 3 way swap so I can put the 69 back to stock and sell it, put the "OK" suspension parts into my convertible, and the "really good" parts from the 69 into my 68 coupe, along with the 502 and 6 speed.

I wish you the best of luck, and hope you finish it by spring!! [Smile]

Looks like fun!

Got any goodies for the rebuild?

I just scooped up a 6 month old 4th Gen Convertible Top hydraulic pump for $56.00 on Ebay! To get this part new from a Dealer you would have to fork over approx. $1500 (US) [Eek!] [Eek!] [Eek!] Also, a few months ago I bought a GM original tonneau cover w/storage bag on Ebay for $71.00 (US). Chevy Dealers want approx. $600 for the cover and bag. Oh how I love Ebay!!! [Big Grin] [Wink] [Big Grin]

Not especially. I needed to have the blower serviced. had some seals leaking. ($310 USD yikes). Of course the FAST is going in and going to 72# injectors. I'll have a wideband O2 sensor now so easier to tune.

I'm hoping to see about 600 rwhp [Smile] [Big Grin]
