Just noticed the passenger side seat belt clip thingy faces outward, so when you pull the seat belt to put into the latch, you have to turn it around. Thus the twist is created in the belt. When you unlatch it and let it retract, the belt has no twists though(cause the latch flips around). Is this normal? I have a 2001 V6 camaro convertible . I noticed the same thing on the passenger side of my mom's 1997 Chevy Lumina. Anyone get what I'm talking about? You can also email me at heybog@yahoo.com Thanks.

I've always dreaded the "twisted seatbelt" syndrome in many GM (and other) cars. Before flipping the buckle and finding out that it was facing the right way to begin with, I'd suggest that you trace the seatbelt from the lower anchoring post (between door and base of seat), then draw it across your lap, ensuring it is not twisted. The lower anchor post should be the basis for the rest of the seatbelt's flatness and the buckle's position, because it's easy for a twist to remain hidden behind the slot into which the belt retracts and spools.

It drives me nuts when I get in a car and the seatbelt is twisted.
It's kind of like going to someone's house and using their restroom, only to find the toilet paper rolling in the wrong direction.
