The very first dyno run with the supercharger yielded 519 hp and 585 ft lbs of torque at the wheels!!!

Just got back and I'm really excited. The numbers are on the stock opti with the belt slipping. The power was 519.2 at 5000 and 583 at just 4400. We need to change the plugs to tr7s (colder), hook up the LTCC, put on the ET streets (it was smoking the street tires on the dyno...) and start monkeying around with the tune. The numbers above were with a very safe and conservative tune. Should end up over 600 hp at 6000 and 650 torque at the wheels.

The very cool thing is that it's hitting and keeping 10 lbs of boost at the manifold. The intercooler is doing its thing and keeping the inlet temps low. (I'll post later... I forgot what they were, but they were nice.)

Here's the dyno sheet:

Pretty much everything's been upgraded. I've got a Moser 12 bolt with 3.73s and 33 spline axles. The suspension is setup with PA k-member w/tubular upper and lower arms, HAL QA1 shocks and springs, Spohn HD torque arm, ajustable pan hard rod, adjustable LCAs w/relocation brackets, poly mounts, end-links, and tranny mount. I've also got the 3 1/2" Lingenfelter aluminum drive shaft and a level 10 4L60E.

It should hook pretty good on the slicks... [Big Grin]

Greg it was last year not this year he was not there this year with you and me and they say it puts down more than that he was having trouble with the way it ran before he came up there. Sorry he did not make it this year.

The engine is built strong and I could probably throw a 200 shot on it to get up around 800 hp at the wheels, but I think I'll just try to get as much of the hp to the street as possible. It's already in danger of becoming a smoke machine... [Eek!]

The first season, I want to keep it in the low 11s at 5800 feet. (damn mountains...) If I break 11 flat, I have to get a full cage and some other nonsense. If I get a chance to club race it, I'll go for glory runs. At sea level it should be deep into the 10s. [Big Grin]

Last night with the LTCC hooked up and the plug gap smaller, we tuned it on the dyno to a very safe 530 hp 608 tq at the wheels. The belt is still slipping after 5K, though, so there's more hp there. I've got a cog setup ordered that should put an end to the slipping problem and should bring the numbers up some more.

Hmmmmm Got to be honest Tony, the cog setup mya not be the best solution for a road car. A buddy of mine put cogs on his street car and although I do not recall the 'problem' with the cogs he went back to a belt and was not happy with the cogs.

What makes you think the belt is slipping? I see about 13.4#'s with my 10 rib (use to be a 12 rib but two got stripped off) which is about what I expected on my 15# pulley.

It's pretty obvious on the dyno sheet. The torque curve practically begins at 600 at 4400 rpms and drops between 5000 and 6000. This is when the supercharger should really be coming alive. I'll try the cog setup and if it sucks, I'll go back to the big belts. What I really want with the cog is repeatability. If the belt slips, it can't be reliable.

Tony, I could certainly see your torque curve peaking at 4400 and then tailing off, that would be normal.

What is the HP curve doing? The torque curve should move up quickly and hopefully stay fairly flat and then it will start to leak down. The HP curve should be a gently rising line until your cam is at its best and then it will fall of. The peak should probably be 5400 - 6400 depending on the cam.

Do you have a boost guage? Any idea what it peaks at? Another hint if the belt is slipping is you will get a rubber powder residue around the blower pulley.

Boost hits 10 at 4400 and flatlines all the way to 6000.

Here's the first dyno run before the LTCC and tuning.
