Recently, the National Organization of Rare Disorders (NORD) has set up a fund to begin research on PLS. The fund must reach $35,000 to begin research. As of September 8, 2000, the fund contained $14,725.
I'm sure you all have worthwhile charities that you donate to but any help you can give would be greatly appreciated by me and my family. If interested in making a tax-deductable donation, please send your donation to:
NORD (National Organization of Rare Disorders)
P.O. Box 8923
New Fairfield, CT 06812-8923
Include a note stating that it is for the PLS Research Fund.

Thanks in advance,

In the tongue, the initial symptom is slurring of words. In the hands symptoms include weakness and stiffness in the fingers, general clumsiness, and fatigue doing repetitive tasks with the fingers.
