A Mechanic Friend of mine had a comment about
me wanting to Paint my Brake Calipers. He said
if they are Aluminum, painting would hamper the cooling ability of the Calipers.
Wadda ya think ????

Haven't had a problem with mine. I think if it did hinder the ability of the brakes it would be so minimal you would never notice.

These are mine with 30K and about a dozen track sessions. I had just taken off the 'R' compounds to put the 'streets' back on when I took this. Nov '00.

Just make sure you clean them reeeeel good.

Well I painted mine with high temp paint you put on exhaust headers. So far I haven't had any problems with stopping.

You can go hear for pics.

I don't think that you have any mechanic friends! Ha! Hey, if you don't take that thing out and drive it why are you worring about painting it? Are you ever going to show up at Andrettie's??? And where;s Frank?

What brand/type of paint did you use to do that? It looks great, gotta do it to mine!

Rick,

If you go to www.eastwoodco.com thats where I got the paint. part # 10175Z It resists heat up to 1200 degrees F. This is exhaust paint and seems to resist dirt build up too. I haven't cleaned them since I painted them. Just washed them off with the hose.
