well i went to the race track at Portland International Raceway to learn how to drive my car to the brink of tire adhersion. i had so much fun and thankfully the weather held up. cy (obssd) was also there and happend to be behind me some of the time and recorded several laps from a camcorder in his car. says he is going to edit it for me, can't wait to see the final copy. on the second session out during the 3rd lap of that session, i accidentally spun out on turn one. the instructor had me enter it way too hot for my ability at that point, and cy got the whole thing on tape. pretty cool to watch. the instructor was very cool about it. he totally admitted it was his fault and was actually very impressed with my vehicle control during the skid and being able to keep the car on the track. anyway, just wanted to say i had a great time and can't wait to go again in the spring. Sounds like a good time and a learning experience. That's the right place to push to the limit! Posted by amy00ss (Member # 106) on :
That is cool Nate. I went to an SCCA Autocross event this weekend. One of the guys in the club talked me into taking his '85 IROC around the track (warming me up for Bragg Smith). I was really nervous but had a lot of fun. I too did a 180!

Sniff! Nate didn't even mention that the reason he went to the class was because of Steve letting him know about it.
I have a bunch of pics & video of Nate, Cy and Steve coming around turn 12 of PIR and heading up the front stretch.
Steve said he finally got the nerve to look at the speedometer and he was doing 145.
I'm glad he didn't tell me that until the day was over.

sorry teri, just got a little carried away and forgot the most important people behind the scenes.
without steve and teri telling me about this event, i probably would not have gone. thanks so much for making me aware so i could learn to control my car.
you guys are great.
just for anyone who does not know, steve and teri are like my camaro parents, always looking out for me
