Has anyone experienced the A/C air getting warm while under WOT? It's a scorcher here today ( Humidex 45 deg. Celcius plus )and had the A/C on. Noticed that at WOT, the vent air gets warm. Does anyone know what causes this? Not a biggie for me but am just curious as to why it happens.
TIA!

Yep...A/C shuts off at WOT, under the assumption you want maximum power.

That is normal! GM has been doing that since 1980 with the A/C systems!

What if your not at WOT? Say your are just pulling up a low grade or something. My 93' Lumina all but quits blowing under these conditions. KICKBACK 2000SS COUPE Posted by 2002Z4CSS (Member # 1393) on :

The A/C system is tied into the TPS and the ECM. Some cars will do this so the engine is not lugging under load.
