Hey gang... For those I haven't met before, I'm Dave...another SLP Refugee
dang...this is like a funeral here, ain't it? I'm not knocking it...I feel like a part of me died, too. I visited that board at least once a day since I joined in spring of 2001. Sorry to hear of SLP's $$$ troubles too...I hope they can come out of it. Would be a real loss to lose them. The sudden end just seems odd...right after Dave spends half his weekend trying to get it back up for us after the blackout, they pull the plug on it less than 48 hours later.
All of this happening while I'm excited to be receiving my latest SLP part...a Loudmouth exhaust system...just yesterday.
I found out this evening...had just gotten home after being all excited at seeing a new Firehawk in my neighborhood (don;t see a whole lot around here) A guy that transports cars, had a white 98+ on a flatbed about 6 houses down from mine...first white one I'd ever seen...signed on SLP to share and found the death announcement.
<sigh>

Wow! what a shock. Gonna miss the folks from that board. I agree with eless1, sure would like to know what happened. Feel like the door was slammed in my face. Didn't post there much but checked the board every day. Guess this will be my new home now.

Only good side is the Mods power trips are over.
Hot Damn....AMEN to that my brother!
Yep, its sad that the SLP board is gone...met great people over there and had some really FUN times! Plus, the information really flowed over there.
Good thing friendships can transfer from one board to another!
Don't start! That is the whole point. Just leave all that there. It is different here and we want it to stay that way. The MODS from there are people I know and they are very good people too. Just keep that stuff away. Be friendly and enjoy the comraderie. Positive energy only here. Leave the negativity somewhere else.
ENJOY!

It was a shock to see that it was gone! I had to read it at least twice. I wish that they could have just turned off all new posting and left the board in place for a month or so to allow us to still do searches and to copy info.

Amen to that. I was thinking something similar. Of course, if the plug was pulled due to ISP costs it wouldn't be around to check anyway.

Thats why I stated this in the other thread:

Times change...as did SLP's focus on things, they will soon be selling Mustang parts, not to mention the GP's, Monte's, & even truck parts. Ever notice that the Camaro was in the "past cars" section?
I like to think that as one door closes, another opens. I will miss the board, and the time shared with friends, but new doors are opening...

Heh heh. Maybe Dave knew they'd be letting in those Mustang guys and we'd mix like oil and water..... j/k

Well now, I go away for a couple of days and WOW J.R. you must feel like you've given birth to quints! Lots of new activity on the board.
I have mixed feelings about the SLP board. I believe it was the first board of any type that a lot of us used. I know it was for me! I met people that I never would have known save and except for that board. We have truly become the F car family and the family was born and nurtured by SLP. But times change.
I wish all the staff at SLP, Dave, Jeff, Reg, Ed, Mark, et al all the best. They have lots of talent there and I am sure they will emerge again.
Let's hope they'll be involved with the next generation Camaro and once again we'll be able to enjoy the fruits of their labour.
Thanks for everything Dave - the board really was a great help to all. Hopefully we can maintain what we've developed here, only with more friends.

NJ CAD is still on. Dave plans on attending too.
Are they going to have the reg. on the SLP website or not.
Well that's good news! I was wondering about all the rooms reserved. In addition to the reg. question above, I'd like to know if anyone will be selling Zaino products there. (maybe Sal could have a booth set up!) Posts: 641 | From: northern Delaware | Registered: Jul 2002
